BLAKENESS
Blake puts on the Blake full force.
I've been so swamped with work the last two weeks haven't had a chance to post. I actually did post last Thursday, but I don't know if anybody saw it.
No biggy.
By the time I got here today, Kathy had already posted this, and since I share her admiration for Blake's performance last night, I will just add on to this post.
Blake and Lakisha were the two most exciting performers last night but since it's cumulative, one of them could easily go home tonight.
I think Kiki is more likely. At least she'll go out on a high note. That song brought out the best in her.
Blake also had his ultimate Blakian performance. Simon might be right that half the audience will love it and half will hate it, but on Idol that's better than everybody thinking you're just okay. The half that hate you, can't hurt you. It's all about the half that love you.
Phil put in another strong performance, so he very well might be safe. Jordin didn't do well, but will really benefit from the combined vote. She must be thrilled that she doesn't have to live of this one song. I did like her hair however.
Melinda was good as usual. You know she ain't going anywhere.
So that leaves... Chris. I have to think he's a goner. He was okay last week, but he went first and a lot of people did better after him. This week he was just okay, certainly the least memorable of the men.
But Chris and who? Phil was strong both weeks and has hit his stride. Blake was just okay last week and I have to assume that last week's votes outnumbered this week's. So Blake isn't 100% safe.
But if I had to make a guess, I'd say Chris and Kiki.
If it is, I have to say, for a year when the women were supposed to dominate, men have stayed pretty even with them.
As for the pool, I mentioned this last week, but not sure anybody noticed....
Unless they make it absolutely clear that one person was in last place and the other was in second last, I will count it that the two goners were tied for 5th.
I will hold onto the TIVO of the show and you have till Friday at midnight to tell me if you have evidence that I interpretted the words incorrectly.
They can be tricky with this stuff so i'll be listening closely.

I'm worried for Jordin, she's my favorite - but she picked the worst possible song. I really can't tell who will be going home tonight - I'm sure it will be disappointing (unless its Phil).
